This is how it works:
Astigmatism shows itself in subtle ways. You may find that if you cover one eye and look at the spokes of the wheel (see right), some spokes appear darker than others. If they do, you may have astigmatism.

What is Astigmatism?
In astigmatism, the front surface of the eye has an irregular shape like an egg, versus a non-astigmatic eye, which is shaped like an orange.
